The Blue Angels have been the pride of Pensacola since their original formation in 1946. They are the oldest formal aerobatic team in the United States and are the most well known community outreach program of the US Navy and Marines. Their mission is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service. In 2021 they traded their F/A-18 Hornets for F/A-18 E/F Super Hornets which were an impressive upgrade. Fat Albert, the support vessel from the Marine Corps, also upgraded in 2021 to a C-130J Hercules and the new team is quite the sight and sound to behold. The Pensacola Beach Air Show in 2021 was the first time Pensacola had the chance to see our new team in their full glory. The deep rumble of the engines as they zoom overhead sure does inspire confidence and pride in the good ol’ U.S. of A. and our armed forces! The Blues 2021 Pensacola Homecoming show has moved to Pensacola Beach instead of NAS because of COVID restrictions. This means our last chance to see our Blues fly in 2021 will be from a front row seat in Quietwater Sound, just off shore from the island. The shows will start at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 5th and Saturday, November 6th with a practice show at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 4th. There will also be a Breakfast with the Blues show on Wednesday, November 9 beginning at 7:30 AM. Book your boat rental today with Pensacola Pontoons and don’t miss this opportunity!
